Save money by holiday shopping online

I’m 90% done with Christmas shopping and I haven’t bought a single thing in a store. I’ve saved a ton of money shopping online! I’d love to pass along some of my tips to help you save your hard-earned cash and still score fabulous gifts.
Designer clothes at discount prices. After browsing through the couture clothing in magazines, I find the same items online for less. I love sites like Ruelala.com, Hautelook.com, Gilt.com, and Ideeli.com, where I find great designer pieces at low prices. Sometimes I even get credits towards my purchases when I refer friends who make a purchase. (I currently have a $50 credit on Ruelala.com!) What could be better?
Promo Codes. Before buying anything directly from some of my favorite online stores like Nordstrom.com or jcrew.com, I check out http://www.couponcabin.com for any active promo codes I can apply to my purchase on those sites. I’ve saved a ton of money doing this.
Bonus Gifts. What’s better than a free bonus gift with the purchase of a product you already want? Sephora.com currently has 15 limited-time promo codes for free bonus items. I almost bought something just to get the cute kat von d tote as a free bonus with my purchase. Check out http://www.sephora.com/promo/beautybonuses
Buy at the lowest price. When buying from a brand that’s sold on multiple sites, I do a Google search to find the lowest price. I might as well pay less for the same product. Amazon.com frequently has the best rate.
Cash Back on Purchases. MSN’s BING gives you cash back for shopping. My balance is slowly accumulating. It’s like getting a refund on my holiday purchases.
Free Shipping. Many companies offer free shipping for products purchased online. Purchases may qualify for free shipping based on price, time purchased, or another promotion. Sometimes it’s worth getting an extra gift from the same place, just to have the items shipped for free. Most of the shoes on my favorite shoe site, Endless.com, have free overnight shipping. If you order by 3:00 you’ll have your shoes next day. It’s pure joy.
Two for one. Two for one means one for me! Take advantage of two for one deals. You either take care of two gift-getters, or get your own favorite gift with each purchase. Ahh, the joys of holiday shopping.
My dirty little secret. Every month I get my subscription from Lucky magazine and make a list of all (yes, all) of the websites mentioned. I discover new jewelry, beauty, and clothing sites, and even unique blogs. It may sound like overkill, but I find some amazing things. And since I’m able to discover numerous websites out there and look at the unique features they offer to consumers, it helps me with my job. So, my dirty little secret helps me personally and professionally—which means it also helps you!
