We’re always on the lookout for the best tricks to make our eyes look bigger. Our new obsession is a method that involves using white eyeliner on the lower lid. We found a wonderful YouTube channel that’s quickly gaining popularity, where Michelle Phan shows you how to create a bright-eyed look for day or dramatic anime eyes for a special night out. Check out the steps below and the links to Michelle’s easy-to-follow demonstration videos.
How to get the everyday wide and bright-eyed look:
1.) Apply white eyeliner to the lower lids and in the rims.
Clean up any excess white eyeliner with a cotton swab.
2.) Apply a light eye shadow (peach is a good color) all over your eyes.
3.) Apply silver eye shadow on your upper brow line and near your tear ducts on the upper and lower lids.
4.) Blend out all harsh lines with a makeup brush.
5.) Line your top lids with black eyeliner.
Draw a thin line and make sure both eyes are even.
6.) Curl your lashes.
Heat the eyelash curler with a hairdryer for 30 seconds before use.
7.) Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes.

How to get the glam wide-eyed anime look:
1.) Apply liquid eyeliner to your upper lids in a thin line.
Start from the middle of your eyelids and extend the line outward just a bit past the edge of your eyes for a slight cat-eye look. This will give the illusion of wider-set eyes.
2.) Apply white eyeliner on the lower lids.
This makes your eyes look larger.
Use a cream eyeliner.
3.) Using an angled brush dipped in a dark eye shadow, draw a thin line under your white eyeliner.
This will help redefine your eyes.
4.) Apply white shimmer.
With a cotton swab, dab a bit of white shadow or shimmer onto your tear ducts.
5.) Apply false lashes.
First, place them onto your eyes to see if they will fit.
Trim the extra lashes that are too long.
Use a lash glue in a dark tone or one that dries clear. Squeeze a bit onto your hand and run your lash over the glue to thinly coat the false lashes.
Wait 30 seconds, then apply. Get as close to your natural lash line as possible. Apply in the middle and work your way out.
Use a cotton swab to maneuver the lashes into place.
6.) Curl your lashes and apply mascara.
Curling and applying mascara to both sets of lashes (yours and the false ones) will keep them together and look more natural.
7.) Apply false bottom lashes.
They need to curl outward. Apply them under your real bottom lashes.
8.) Apply mascara on the inner lower lashes.
This will make your eyes look dramatically bigger.
