Can your face cream be used as your eye cream?

Eye creams can be expensive, often costing more than face creams - even though they come in smaller containers.  But, is it necessary that we treat the skin around our eyes with products made especially for the eyes?

The answer is not always.  The reason to use an eye cream as opposed to using your daily face cream is that most eye creams are formulated for sensitive skin and lack harsh ingredients such as formaldehyde and fragrance that can irritate the eyes and skin around the eyes.  Plus, eye creams contain special ingredients to address puffiness and under eye dark circles.  These special ingredients are what make the product expensive, even in small doses.  Some eye creams promote collagen growth, which helps improve the appearance of sagging skin.

You can use your regular face cream for the skin around your eyes as long as it does not cause a skin allergy and you don’t expect it to treat specific skin conditions such as puffiness and dark circles. The skin around your eyes is similar to the skin on the rest of your face.  But it lacks muscles underneath to create tension, so it tends to sag faster.  And the bluish tint we refer to as dark circles appears when blood vessels dilate because of the lack of circulation and structure.

There are a few face creams that are formulated for the face and eye area.  Timeless Secret® not only contains anti-aging ingredients that promote smoothness and firmness in the skin on your face, but also contains ingredients to treat the appearance of dark circles and puffiness in the skin around your eyes.  And it’s free of any harsh preservatives that can cause irritation.

Call your beauty consultant at 1 (800) 601-8119 and mention the Breakthrough in Beauty blog to get the full Timeless Secret Introductory Kit for only $29.95.  It comes with Pure Radiance Day Moisturizer SPF 20 and Skin Perfecting Night Treatment AND three free gifts!  These AM and PM anti-aging treatments both combat the appearance of aging on your face and reduce the appearance of sagging and puffiness on your eyes so there’s no need to buy a separate eye cream.

Hi,
I am 59 years old and I don't find that any facial creams I use are any good. I still find my skin to be dry a lot of the time. Is there any name brand of facial cream that really does help my skin to be moist and help it to not sag? I am also noticing signs of wrinkles by the sides of my nose and lower mouth and I hate the look of that. I tried a lot of facial creams but they all seem the same. Anyone know of a really good facial cream for my age that isn't too expensive?
